Using WM_COMMAND for listboxES

Recommended Posts

Dear Clever people,

How do I modify this code (in _GUICtrlListBox_Create) to detect notifications from 2 listboxes. Assume the listboxes are called:

$hListBox and hListBox2

Func WM_COMMAND($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg
    Local $hWndFrom, $iIDFrom, $iCode, $hWndListBox
    If Not IsHWnd($hListBox) Then $hWndListBox = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListBox)
    $hWndFrom = $ilParam
    $iIDFrom = BitAND($iwParam, 0xFFFF) ; Low Word
    $iCode = BitShift($iwParam, 16) ; Hi Word

    Switch $hWndFrom
        Case $hListBox, $hWndListBox
            Switch $iCode
                Case $LBN_DBLCLK ; Sent when the user double-clicks a string in a list box
                    _DebugPrint("$LBN_DBLCLK" & @LF & "--> hWndFrom:" & @TAB & $hWndFrom & @LF & _
                            "-->IDFrom:" & @TAB & $iIDFrom & @LF & _
                            "-->Code:" & @TAB & $iCode)
                    ; no return value

dazza,

Not sure if I count as one of the "Clever people" :P , but you do it like this:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#include <ListBoxConstants.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$hListBox = GUICtrlCreateList("", 10, 10, 200, 200)
$hWndListBox = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListBox)

GUICtrlSetData($hListBox, "1|2|3|4")

$hListBox2 = GUICtrlCreateList("", 10, 250, 200, 200)
$hWndListBox2 = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListBox2)

GUICtrlSetData($hListBox2, "A|B|C|D")

GUISetState()

GUIRegisterMsg($WM_COMMAND, "WM_COMMAND")

$fAction = 0

While 1

    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch

    If $fAction Then
        MsgBox(0, "", "Listbox " & $fAction)
        $fAction = 0
    EndIf

WEnd

Func WM_COMMAND($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg
    Local $hWndFrom, $iIDFrom, $iCode
    ; Much better to get the handles immediately following the creation of the listboxes as above
    ;If Not IsHWnd($hListBox) Then $hWndListBox = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListBox)
    ;If Not IsHWnd($hListBox2) Then $hWndListBox2 = GUICtrlGetHandle($hListBox2)
    $hWndFrom = $ilParam
    $iIDFrom = BitAND($iwParam, 0xFFFF) ; Low Word
    $iCode = BitShift($iwParam, 16) ; Hi Word

    Switch $hWndFrom
        Case $hWndListBox
            Switch $iCode
                Case $LBN_DBLCLK ; Sent when the user double-clicks a string in a list box
                    $fAction = 1
            EndSwitch
        Case $hWndListBox2
            Switch $iCode
                Case $LBN_DBLCLK ; Sent when the user double-clicks a string in a list box
                    $fAction = 2
            EndSwitch
    EndSwitch

EndFunc

If all you are looking for is the double click, you could simplify the message handler like this:

Func WM_COMMAND($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam)
    #forceref $hWnd, $iMsg
    Local $hWndFrom, $iIDFrom, $iCode
    $hWndFrom = $ilParam
    $iIDFrom = BitAND($iwParam, 0xFFFF) ; Low Word
    $iCode = BitShift($iwParam, 16) ; Hi Word
    Switch $iCode
        Case $LBN_DBLCLK ; Sent when the user double-clicks a string in a list box
            Switch $hWndFrom
                Case $hWndListBox
                    $fAction = 1
                Case $hWndListBox2
                    $fAction = 2
            EndSwitch
    EndSwitch
EndFunc

All clear? :mellow:
