Getting handle of control from another gui?

2 posts in this topic

I would like to write event handlers for controls of a gui window that read from another control in that window, and later I would like to read (and perhaps write to) controls in one window from another. Is there a cleaner way that creating a tub full of global handle variables?

EGM,

I would like to write event handlers for controls of a gui window that read from another control in that window

Is this an AutoIt GUI that you have written or an external third-party app? If the former, then the problem is trivial - if the latter, then it is rather more complex. ;)

later I would like to read (and perhaps write to) controls in one window from another

If the 2 GUIs belong to separate processes then ControlGetText and ControlSetText should do this for you. :)
