Win98 compability

5 posts in this topic

Among features it is mentioned that AutoIt is compatible with win95+. I had to create a simple form for that machine with win98. AutoIt installation it self was successful, but I can't open any of installed executables under autoit3 dir. It says: "this program requires newer version of windows" (or something like that) Is there a special way to make this software to work on older [much, much older :)] machines.

Older versions would work. But in that case you inherit all the downsides (read bugs).

Edit: Sorry i didn't read properly your reply thougt you meant older versions of win not autoit. So i should try to install v2.x there?

I meant older versions of AutoIt. See change-log to find out when was win98 support dropped, it wasn't very long.

skuja,

You need to download v3.2.12.1 from here.

That was the last Win98 compatible release. ;)
