Text editable GuiCtrlCreateInput

Recommended Posts

This is my first time creating a GUI with autoit. I'm starting with with

$ctrId=GUICtrlCreateInput( $ctrIdValue, 180, 20, 100, 10,$ES_AUTOHSCROLL & $ES_AUTOVSCROLL)

but i can only type numbers in it. I figured out how to get/set the values from code (and use a ini file) but i can't seem to find out how to make an alpha-numeric editable input.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you

madScientist,

It is because you tried to concatenate the styles and did not use BitOr to combine them. Look at the Setting Styles tutorial in the Wiki to see why this gave you the wrong overall style. :D

Actually you do not need either of the styles; $ES_AUTOHSCROLL is a default style for inputs and as the control is forced to single line only, there is no point in having $ES_AUTOVSCROLL. :D

So you can just do this: :graduated:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$ctrId = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 180, 20, 100, 20)

GUISetState()

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

All clear? :(

Edit: Clarity, I hope! :D
