Icon control taking over

Recommended Posts

i have a gui with a "refresh arrow" icon as a control to redraw the gui, and it works find when i build through the IDE, but after i build (i have tried both x86 and x64 builds) and run the .exe, it will keep reddrawing the GUI window, even if the control has not been used. it is very frustrating, if i remove the control, its good, but i want it. please help

i will attach the .au3, the "needed assemblies" folder, and the .exe itself (x86) thanks.

(it should only show the icon ctrl if the tests fail, but you can edit that if you'd like) i have tried this on two machines, both fail, but running just the scipt, works. not sure.

redLabel sqlInstaller.au3

redLabel sqlInstaller.exe

Change the line where you create the icon to this:

$iconRefresh = GUICtrlCreateIcon(@ScriptDir & "\Needed Assemblies\Refresh.ico", 4, 272.5, 0)

Your original line was looking for the Refresh.ico file in the @ScriptDir location, and you have it in the Needed Assemblies folder. The variable then contained the value of 0 because it couldn't create the icon, and the GUIGetMsg() was returning 0 because nothing was happening, thus $iconrefresh = $msg so it reran the Func _SQLRequirements() over and over.

Glad I could help, took me a little to figure out why it was doing that myself.
