Simple beginner question

Hello,

As the title says, I am beginner here! I would like to know how I can make a simple GUI to have 2 buttons, one "start" and one "stop". When I click start, I want a loop with some actions to be executed on the background (I don't know if it matters but a sleep function will be included there) and when I press stop, those actions will terminate.
