Zilee 0 Posted February 15, 2011 There's no macro to get the function name like: Func a() MsgBox(0,"",@functionName) ;Shows <a> Endfunc Anyone know what I should do to get the desired result? I'm working on an app with 14k lines and suddenly I was asked to add trace support inside our run-time functions, it would be very helpful if I could get the function name instead of manually adding it to the string. Thanks.
PsaltyDS 39 Posted February 15, 2011 Add a line to each of your functions: Func a() Local $sFuncName = "a" MsgBox(0, "", $sFuncName) ;Shows <a> EndFunc There is nothing to do that for you in the native functions, so you would have to put a wrapper around them: Func _Sleep($i = 10) Local $sFuncname = "Sleep" MsgBox(0,"",@functionName) ;Shows Sleep Sleep($i) Endfunc Now you can see why most people get along fine without that. Alright thanks. I will resort to simply append it to the string containing the trace. I think I will create a python script to do it for me though.
BrewManNH 1,305 Posted February 15, 2011 Look in the Tools menu for SciTe, there's a function trace tool that will add trace lines to every function automatically. You will need the full install package of SciTe to get this to show up in the tools menu. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
