How to define corners of a grid?

3 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, I did use the search function.

Ok, What I want to do is pretty basic. I want to define an area of the window to use pixel search in. I figure all that really needs to be defined is the top right corner and the bottom left corner but I'm not sure how to code that. Am I making sense?

Thanks for any help

hairybantha,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :)

Think of your window as a grid:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0
1 . . . . . . . . . .
2 . . . . . . . . . .
3 . . #-----------# .
4 . . | . . . . . | .
5 . . | . . . . . | .
6 . . #-----------# .
7 . . . . . . . . . .
8 . . . . . . . . . .

The coordinates of the top-left are (3, 3) and bottom-right (9, 6). So in your PixelSearch function, you would use:

PixelSearch ( 3, 3, 9, 6, color)

The Window Info Tool will let you get the coordinates easily. :idiot:

All clear? ;)

I think what I'm trying to do is more complex than my current level of skill. I should go back to some simpler stuff and work my way up I guess. Thanks for the imput though. :)
