TCP Remote Advices

Hi all,

I have to do for univeristy final thesis a PC remote. Before start this project I want to hear some advices about how should I manage all remote features. For example: it will be more easy to listen on three different ports [ for files transfer, screen viewer and general use] or just on one port and then find a way to manage all this things [define a kind of protocol and manage them in some smart way]. Any suggestions are welcome and if someone already create a computer remote and have some advices for me are welcome also.
