I would hazard a guess that your problem is a lack of RAM, not the _CryptEncryptFile function. :P

You would need enough RAM to load a file of that size and hold the encrypted version (which is likely to be larger than the original) and run the script and do everything else that is required - all at the same time. It seems you do not. :)

Perhaps if you were to split the file into smaller sections? :)
