Problem with InputBox and drivemapadd

3 posts in this topic

$id=InputBox("authentication", "Please enter your ID", "", "", 220, 120)
$pw=InputBox("authentication", "Please enter your password", "", "*M", 220, 120)

I use $id and $pw to drivemapadd for an app install. The drive mapping happens fine. The problem happens when running on Windows 7. The 2nd Input box that appears uses the same text as the first (i.e. both boxes ask for ID instead of the second asking for PW). If you put your PW in the 2nd box it does in fact work, but users are confused by the double ID prompt. Why isn't the new Input box using the correct text although using the correct variable. On Windows XP it works as expected. TIA for any suggestions.

Doesn't happen here, Win7 Enterprise x86. I get the correct text for both boxes.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I found it. Apparently the fonts in Win7 are slightly different than WinXP causing the text to be wider than the input box, and instead of wrapping, it just left off "password". The actual InputBox prompt text was 6 characters wider (6 characters removed to protect the innocent). In XP (where created) it did not exceed the width of the window, but 7 does. Thanks for looking.
