Prevent command line window from disappearing

I'm calling a console exe but am not sure why it is not working.

The exe prints out an error message, but the window disappears too fast for me to read it.

How can I retrieve the message?

Perhaps you can try reading the console output stream, using StdoutRead(), like

Oh, that's pretty cool.

I found an alternative where I just type `cmd /k path_to_exe` and the console window remains open.

But reading from stdout would be useful for other things I have in mind.

replace the /c for a /k

run(@comspec & " /k dir")
