How could I get it back ? I des-installed AutoIt ( Posted Image Yes I did, I admit ;)) and re-installed it ( ouffffff :huh2:!!!) But the problem is still there ! Thanks for your help Cramaboule

try running this from cmd prompt:

regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx

Thanks Jos.... but that doesn't work either...

I even thought that this file would be corrupted so I downloaded an another hhctrl.ocx and did the regserv32 to the new one... same !

I even looked through these topics:

http://www.autoit.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4830

http://www.autoit.de/index.php?page=Thread&postID=133488

But it still the same :huh2:

It works fine on my virtual Win 7 RC7600. Grrrrrrr!!!!!

Ok... here goes with the many questions:

What made it go wrong in the first place? Made any changes to your system?

Do you see a correct button for "open this script"?

Does anything happen when you click it?

Did you use the installers to install autoIT3 and SciTE4AutoIt3?

Is the correct path in autoit3dir located in au3.properties?

autoit3dir=C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3

Any overrides in the SciTEUser.properties?

Jos

Ok, when the button is not showing correctly it means that either the hhctrl.ocx is still not registered correctly or there is some security setting preventing this OCX to work.

Thanks a lot for your help

... there is some security setting preventing this OCX to work.

I thought about that... Do you know Where in XP Pro SP3 to fix that ?

can we 'unregister' hhctrl.ocx ? (and register it again)

Have a look at this post and see if that helps you:

Find yourself this version as later versions don't allow you to work with the OCX option in the freeware version: WinPatrol Version: 16.0.2009

Try this

Internet Options >> Advanced tab >> Security section -- Check "Allow Active content to run in files on My Computer"

I'm begining to wonder if this isn't related to a MS Help issue; it shouldn't but I've seen strange things happen because of it. Are you running W7?

Open RegEdit and dig down to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WinHelp

Look at the "AllowIntranetAccess" value and make sure the data is as follows

dword 00000001

You may also have to download the patch.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb

Make sure to get the correct version x86 or x64.

It doesn't hurt to apply the patch anyway.

Hello,

Sorry for not relaying I was away for some times.

No I have the problem on my XP (works fine on my virtual W7 RC7600... I have this W7 just for testing!)

So I do not have this key on my XP, and the Patch is for Vista and W7 only !

Anything else ? :-)

C.

PS: I wonder if it is not related to 'Internet Explorer'. How can I reove totally IE and re-install it ?

EDIT: added PS

I really do not know.....

I un-install ie8 and re-install it -> did not change

I ran 'Wise registry Cleaner free' and CCleaner -> did not change

I compared 'MJsDiag.zip' with as an another XP (where the help file is working) -> Same!

I am really stuck !!!
