Control under cursor

Yes it should, because the only time you got that error was when your mouse cursor wasn't over your GUI and your GUI wasn't active.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Now I am starting to get the drift of what you are trying to say: The error doesn't take place until the AutoIt GUI loses focus, so I "assume" that the non-AutoIt GUI would be the window that gained the focus not one create in AutoIt. You experts on AutoIt need to understand that those of us who are not have a little bit of a problem with your terminology some times. Just because it says we will get an error does not really make the statement why the error occurred. Think about this - if I set up and check for the error, it isn't going to return anything if the GUI has crashed. The function in the help file does not use the IsArray function to check for the problem. Maybe a better example is in need here and other places in the help where this might happen.
