Mikeman27294
Hello everyone... again, right? hahaha yeah. I am designing a GUI program, and I need to create a panel, sorta like the console in the scite editor, but only the GUI part of it, not the functions and all. Is there a way to make this sort of GUI control in AutoIT? Thanks.
Moderators Melba23 Posted June 18, 2011 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2011 Mikeman27294,You can use an edit control to act in a similar manner to the SciTE console. If you want the user to be able to adjust the size of the 2 elements of the GUI as is the case in SciTE, take a look at the GUIFrames UDF in my sig. M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
Mikeman27294
Thanks... I will definately take a look at it.EDITOk, I have taken a look at it, and found that when I call the _GUIFrame_Exit() function, exactly as shown there, it freezes up the window, which stops responding. Is this a bug, or do I need to add more in? Thanks. Edited June 18, 2011 by Mikeman27294
Moderators Melba23 Posted June 18, 2011 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) Mikeman27294, My crystal ball is at the cleaners at the moment - could you please provide some code so I can take a look? M23 Edit: Why are you calling that function anyway? The function header clearly says: ; #INTERNAL_USE_ONLY#============== ; Name...........: _GUIFrame_Exit So it not supposed to be called directly by the user - the UDF calls it automatically on exit to delete the subclassed separator bars and to free the UDF created WndProc. Which could well be Chinese to you - and is why the function is marked as it is. Mikeman27294
Oh... honestly, I didnt see that... I must be going blind. well what I am trying to do is allow the user to show and hide the frame upon request.EDITAfter having a look at the include file, I know why I didnt see that. Because I never look at that part of the description, but I look inside that description box at the name, description, etc. Edited June 18, 2011 by Mikeman27294

Mikeman27294
Ok, downloading now and I will let you know if it works then. Thanks again. That looks quite good. With a bit of modification, I may be able to get it to do what I want, but I am unsure. So there is no way to manually destroy the GUI Frame? ProgAndy
So there is no way to manually destroy the GUI Frame? Why do you want to destroy it? If I recall correctly, there are functions to read and set the splitter position. So to "hide", just move it to the bottom and to show the console, restore the old coordinates.Edit: This is the same behaviour as in SciTE. So it is, I never knew that until you just told me... that is exactly what I will do, thanks for telling me that one. You have just saved me a lot of trouble... You too, Melba23, making the code and all... I only wish I had thought of hiding it like that myself.
