Problem with Form Submit after upgrade to IE9

Recommended Posts

Ok, I had a script working and it did great until I recently upgraded to IE9 becuase IE8 was giving me problems. IE9 has solved the other problem, but typical Microsoft, it has created another problem.

The form itself is pretty simple but I can't seem to get it to submit since the submit button doesn't have a name tag.

<form action="addnew.php" method="POST">
<textarea name="text" onFocus="value=''" class="textarea"></textarea>
<input type="submit" class="submit" value="Text Value">

Here is the code I was using that now doesn't work!

$oIE = _IECreate()
_IENavigate($oIE, "www.test.com")
$oTmpInputs = _IETagNameGetCollection($oIE, "input")
For $oInput In $oTmpInputs
If String($oInput.value) = "Test Value" Then
  _IEAction($oInput, "click")

There is an AutoIt issue that will presumably be fixed in the NEXT beta. The best solution right now is to put the page in compatability more, if possible. You could also give the button focus with _IEAction and then use SEND.

Free Internet Tools: DebugBar, AutoIt IE Builder, HTTP UDF, MODIV2, IE Developer Toolbar, IEDocMon, Fiddler, HTML Validator, WGet, curl

MSDN docs: InternetExplorer Object, Document Object, Overviews and Tutorials, DHTML Objects, DHTML Events, WinHttpRequest, XmlHttpRequest, Cross-Frame Scripting, Office object model

SciTe Debug mode - it's magic: #AutoIt3Wrapper_run_debug_mode=Y Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble
