Can I open a new IE window by using _IEAction ($o_Link, "click")?

5 posts in this topic

Dear AutoIt Community,

I would like to open a new IE window from a link on a page.

I know I have the correct object as I have parsed the link ID using regular expression from the relevant HTML and done the old $o_Link = _IEGetObjByID ($o_IE, $s_ID_String

I do not want it opened as a tab. I've done the usual thing and looked through the Help file and did a Forum search but I've not had any luck.

Any and all help much appreciated.

Kind regards,

icu

Alternative to _IECreateEmbedded? better: _IECreatePseudoEmbedded  Better Better?

SciTe Debug mode - it's magic: #AutoIt3Wrapper_run_debug_mode=Y Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Reproducer: a small (the smallest?) piece of stand-alone code that demonstrates your trouble

What happens when you _IELinkClickByText($oIE, "2008737")

Hi Dale,

Thanks for your help and suggestion. When I use the code snippet you suggest the URL loads in the same IE window frame and does not create a tab or new window. It would be the same result if I typed _IENavigate ($o_IE, "link address").

Kind regards,

icu
