hannes08 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Hello filet, there are many possibilities that lead where you want to. Lookup the FileRead() and _StringBetween() functions in the helpfile. If you still have problems, post your code and we'll help you. Regards,Hannes
If you can't convince them, confuse them!
filet Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) I went to the help file and looked for StringBetween and StringRegExp and both came back as file not found. Do I need to download additional files? Edited September 30, 2011 by filet
Moderators Melba23 Posted September 30, 2011 Moderators Posted September 30, 2011 filet, file not foundThey are not files, they are functions. Open "C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\AutoIt3Help.exe" (change the path if you did a non-standard install) and enter the names into the "Index" tab - you will see the Help pages appear highlighted (highlit?) in the list on the left. Click on the highlight and the details come up on the right. BrewManNH Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Which help file did you look at? Because there's actually 3 in the AutoIt3 folder, one combines the other 2 together (Autoit.chm), the Autoit3.chm is only the built-in features, the UDFs3.chm is the help file for just the included UDFs. There's also an executable in the folder called Autoit3Help.exe that will open the combined Help files. filet Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Thank you all. I did manage to create a one dimentional array. The number I need is in row 0 column 0. I know this is basic, but arrays confuse me. I need to save the number from the array as a variable so that I can compare it to another variable as the program runs. I do not know how to pull the number from the array to save it as a variable. Again, any help will be greatly appreciated. I haven't done any code writing for over thirty years and I didn't do very much at that time.
Moderators Melba23 Posted October 2, 2011 Moderators Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) filet, arrays confuse meMight I recommend the Arrays tutorial in the Wiki? They are an essential part of a coder's toolkit - you should try to understand them. The number I need is in row 0 column 0. [...] I need to save the number from the array as a variableJust to help you out here until you have read the tutorial, you can address the array element directly by using the array name and the dimension index. In this case you would use: $aArray[0] : Array_name[Row] As you only have a 1D array, you only need I index. M23 Edit: Realised it was a 1D array despite the "row 0 column 0" comment.
