Getting the currently active window?

Recommended Posts

Is there a function that retrieves the information about the currently active window, i.e. title, text, etc.? So far all commands I can find are to see if a specific window exists and things to do to it.

Now you've one more. A the bottom of your posts are buttons "Delete" & "Edit". Feel free to use them.

Returning to the topic, you should read AutoIt Documentation and search in help files for WinGet~ functions. There are lots of functions like WinGetTitle or WinGetText.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what happened - I hit post topic and when I looked at the forum ten minutes later, I saw a bunch of them. Can't see the delete button in the extraneous ones, though - probably because they're thread starters.

Also yeah, checked the documentation. All of them rely on the window text or title being already known, though, so that's not much help.

What do you think the purpose of the "Title special definition" link that is on almost every page is? To stick some blue in your eyes? Go read it. You definatively not need title and text to be known.
