Right-click a selection

Recommended Posts

I'm creating a script to automate several things after a new image of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit has been done. I am trying to edit the properties of my Wireless Network Connection.

I can open the "Network Connections", and I can then highlight the "Wireless Network Connection" by sending a "w". There is no active Wireless Network Connection at this point in time, so I can't "Send" an "Enter" to open it like I can to the "Local Area Connection" (the wired NIC).

I have to right-click the highlighted "Wireless Network Connection" and then navigate to the "Properties" selection. Navigating to the "properties" selection is easy (send "DOWN" several times once the subwindow is open).

But how do I send the mouse pointer from wherever it currently is to wherever the highlighted "Wireless Network Connection" is, so I can then send a right-click?

There are a couple of functions that have been created that deal with setting up wireless networking that have been posted. A search for Wireless should get you some hints to perhaps help you with this, and avoid mouse clicks.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Solution: send the "APPSKEY", which emulates a right-click.
