having to click ok when running applications as admin

Recommended Posts

Afaik it is not possible to automate the UAC screen as it is displayed on a separate desktop (look at msdn for "createdesktop" and see the underlying documents for the concept). Running in Admin context is most of the time not really necessary, so better check if you could re-write you script.

The only work-around I know of is creating a task to run the program with Admin rights in the task-scheduler and then run that task, which is possible without Admin rights. For security reasons obviously the UAC Admin check is performed once while creating the task ;)...

If you learn of any other method, let me know... and of course tell MS about this possible breach of their security concept :graduated:...
