RegExp not this string

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I use RegExp to extract data from HTML code.

Example of HTML code:

...<a>text<b>123</b></a>...</a>

I want to extract everything between <a> and the first </a> with StringRegExp, in my examle "text<b>123</b>" .

I know this Pattern "<a>([^<]*)" to say extract any character between "<a>" and the first "<" but I don't know how to extract everything between "<a>" and the first "</a>" (every string but not </a>).

Does this pattern exist or do you have other solution ?

Thank you.

PS : I don't want to use StingInStr and StringMid for many raisons

czmaster,

Try this: :graduated:

$sText = "...<a>text<b>123</b></a>...</a>"

$aRet = StringRegExp($sText, "(?U)<a>(.*)<\/a>", 3)

MsgBox(0, "Return", $aRet[0])

The (?U) makes the SRE look for the smallest match rather then the largest. ;)
