Library/framework for common GUI elements?

Recommended Posts

lavascript

I've been learning AutoIt and moving over from batch for the bulk of my scripting.

I'm writing GUI scripts, primarily, and a lot of them have common elements: File, Edit, View menus, Open, Save, Cut, Copy, Select All, Status Bar, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+A, etc., etc.

So far, I've been adding these features manually (the one's I've managed to get working), but is there an easier way? Or is there a set of tutorials that would encompass all of that so that I could sort of build my own template?

Thanks for a great community.

You can add the relevant code to the Snippet Holder, or one of the other similar programs that have been created. You can also add an abbreviation that automatically adds the code when you use the abbreviation. You would need to use the full version Scite4Autoit3 to access those, if you have the full version installed already, there are several abbreviations already included that can give you an idea of how to use them to create your own. The file that holds them is normally in C:Program FilesAutoitSciteProperties and is called abbrev.properties.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

How to ask questions the smart way!

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
