Mapping network drive on domain from shared resource

Recommended Posts

You're putting the domainname string in the wrong place.

DriveMapAdd("Q:", "file01users" & $username, 9, "domainname" & $username, $pw)

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

So:

; Disconnect
DriveMapDel("Q:")
$username = InputBox("Drive Mapper", "Please enter User Name")
$pw = InputBox("Drive Mapper", "Please enter Password", "", "*")
DriveMapAdd("Q:", "file01users" & $username, 9, "DOMAIN" & $username, $pw)

I will be able to test it in a few mins i hope ...

"Doesn't work" needs to be removed from your vocabulary ;) Can you explain what exactly you're seeing in the console (errors, etc.)?

You can get the returned error code (if any) with a MsgBox or ConsoleWrite immediately after your DriveMapAdd line.

Try putting this after that line: If @error Then MsgBox(0,"@error: ", @error)

Then post back what error code you got, if any, or just check against the remarks in the help file for the DriveMapAdd function.

I would suggest doing due diligence before hand if you have not and check to see if you can even add the mapped drive manually in the first place (with multiple user credentials, of course).

Jep. If you have multiple users connecting to the same server (doesn't make any difference if it's another share or not), you need to disconnect the connections to that server first.

You can use a command like 'net use | find "fileservername" to see the connections that need to be cut prior to reconnecting.
