arraysort

4 posts in this topic

I have a file with data

test*1

test3*2

test4*10

test*4

test21*123

test34l*3

And I want to sort it into the order of the numbers that follow after the star so it should look like

test21*123

test*4

test34l*3

etc

My code

$data = FileRead ("Leaders.txt")

$data = StringSplit ($data, @LF)
;_arraydisplay ($data)
Local $Leaders [$data[0]+1][3]
For $i = 1 to $data[0]
$dataD = StringSplit ($data[$i], "*")
$Leaders [$i][1] = $dataD [1]
$Leaders [$i][2] = $dataD [2]
Next
_arraydisplay ($Leaders)
_arraysort($Leaders,1,0,0,2)
_arraydisplay ($Leaders)

But it don't work. Help anyone please?

ArraySort sorts the numbers in lexicographical order from left to right, so it's sorting them correctly, just not the way you expected. To sort them in the way you want, you should look for an alternative array sort that might work better for you.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

i don't get it but it sorts the 1D arrays fine is there no way to make it work with 2D arrays?

$Res = Sort(1,4,233,10)

_ArrayDisplay($Res)

Func Sort($1,$2,$3,$4)

Dim $array[4] = [$1,$2,$3,$4]

_ArraySort($array,1) ;<--And then a miracle happens

Return $array

EndFunc

this works

nevermind. I found what it was missing.

$Leaders [$i][2] = Int( $dataD [2] )
