lil754boy
I am in need of a script to delete files from C:\Windows\Setup\Scripts as a user. I have one that will delete as an admin but the users that will run the scrip are atandard users.
Moderators Melba23 Posted April 23, 2012 Moderators Share Posted April 23, 2012 lil754boy, Welcome to the AutoIt forum. You might wait a long time for any help if that is the way you are going to ask - we do not supply scripts to order, we help you adapt what you have already coded so that it works as you wish. So where is this script that you have which works for admins, and why is it unsuitable for standard users? Is it a question of permissions on the folder? Please help us to help you. BrewManNH
Standard users only have read access to that folder and its contents, they will not be able to do it without having the script run as administrator, but then they'd need admin credentials to do that. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. lil754boy
I figured it out, I used the following RunAs($strLocalUser, @ComputerName, $strLocalpwd, 0, @Comspec & ' /c del "C:windowssetupscripts*.bat"', @SystemDir) RunAs($strLocalUser, @ComputerName, $strLocalpwd, 0, @Comspec & ' /c del "C:windowssetupscripts*.reg"', @SystemDir) The standard FileDelete did not work as standard user did not have persmissions to remove permissions to that folder. FileDelete("C:WindowsSetupscripts*.reg") ; did not work FileDelete("C:WindowsSetupscripts*.bat") ; did not work
