Teleporting cursor while using AutoIt on a virtual machine

Recommended Posts

Hi there I'm new here,

I'm having a problem with a script when I try to run it on a VM.

The script runs perfectly fine on my main OS, but when ran on a VM, the cursor frequently "teleports" to (the same) spot seemingly after I execute a MouseClick or MouseMove.

ie. It would try to move the mouse to click on the position, but doesn't make it there because it gets teleported to a different spot (the same one everytime).

I've ran scripts on this VM before and it didn't seem to have this problem.

ps. It doesn't happen on every MouseClick.. but frequent enough to make my scripts not work :/

What could cause this?

Several possibilities I could think of are:

- Poor resources allocated to the VM?

- No / outdated mouse / mobo drivers on the VM?

- Something to do with the application itself?

Please help if you can, thank you.

I can think of a few things to try:

1) Make sure you have Virtual Machine additions or their equivalent installed (depends on which virtualization tool you're using)

2) Ensure your VM is running full screen

3) Try using a remote desktop session to access the VM

Hi thanks for replying,

It seems like its just that my mouse sensitivity is too high and takes in unintended movements even when I leave it there.

Strange that it doesn't do the same on my main OS though.
