Using AutoIt to run installation MSI

Recommended Posts

I have been using AutoIt for several years and I am stumped with this one.

Trying to script the installation of Quest client MSI using the below script and it works:

$RunMe = "c:\Program Files\Quest\QAgent.msi"

ShellExecuteWait("msiexec.exe", '/i "' & $RunMe)

The issues is that I want the installation to run quietly using either /q or /qn.

When I add "/qn" to the Shell command, the script does not run.

Can someone let me know how the SHELL command should look like to get the MSI to install quietly and with no UI?

Hi, loup001. Is there a reason you need to define the MSI in a separate line? You can run it all on one line for efficiency:

ShellExecute("msiexec.exe", '/i "c:Program FilesQuestQAgent.msi" /qn')
