Hi.

A normal formatting of your disk should be sufficent. Except you use an old OS, or a non-Apple-branded SSD with your Mac. In this case google for "trim" and "garbage collection" to find appropriate tools.

For more detailed information google "trim wiki" and "garbage collection wiki".

In case you want to *WIPE* your disk, google for "disk erazor" or similar.

Regards, Rudi.

We answered your question as you asked it along with your latest requirement. Seeing your basic requirement was to format a SSD with command line the answers we gave you will do that. Your latest requirement still is answered with this information.

Do you care to elaborate on just what you have in mind? As in the entire process from start to finish, why you start the process and the goal of the process? That would help.
