How to stop a compiled exe script

5 posts in this topic

I've been looking around trying to find the answer but I gave up.

I have a script I converted to an exe.

I need the ability to kill the script if something goes wrong.

I have tried using the HotKeySet but that doesn't seem to work of compile scripts.

Thanks for your help.

CygnusX1,

HotKeySey works fine when used to exit compiled scripts. ;)

Perhaps if you posted the code we might be able to offer some advice. :)

HotKeySet("+!d", "Terminate")

For $i = 25 To 1 Step -1

Run(@ProgramFilesDir & "path_to.exe")

Sleep(5000)

WinClose("title_of_window")

Next

Func Terminate()

Exit 0

EndFunc ;==>Terminate

CygnusX1,

Works fine for me when compiled and using NotePad. What is it you are trying to run and then close. :huh:

It works on XP and Win7 not Windows 8.

Thanks for testing for me :-)
