Run command, and wait for Asynch ReturnCode

I was playing around with calling another autoit script, which I would like to display the status of on a GUI ( as an, estimated percent complete ). Using RunWait works, but then the GUI is frozen until the Exit # is returned, and i'm unable to advance an estimated percent complete.

I wanted to create a loop that waits for the asynchronous ReturnCode, from a Run command. Is that possible? If not, I'll create a function to make a .txt file to loop for.

Run doesn't return anything other than the PID of the program you're running, there's no exit code returned from it. If you need the exitcode, you'll have to use RunWait. Of course, it would be simpler to not use run at all if the second program is a script you're running because you could put both scripts into one (unless of course there's no possibility of doing that because of permissions and credentials and whatnot).

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Ha, duh, i can just wait for the PID to terminate...thanks!

looking into TCP also...that seems perfect, since the driver can call the script to run on any station/vm.
