Cancel Button to exit function not script

Recommended Posts

Ok i'm messing with a backup script and i thought it would be usefull to have a cancel button to stop the copying without closing the program.

So i had a browse and made this example

;In the while /wend loop
Case $gButton_3 ; just a standard button
SetError( 99) ; i used 99 as i doubted anything else would

;Inside the function it is like this and im wanting it NOT to carry on if the button is pressed

Select
Case $Os = "V+" ; Vista and Above
GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 5)
RunWait("robocopy.exe" & " " & @DesktopDir & " " & $sDestination & "\Desktop" & " " & $sFilesAll & " " & $sSettings, "", @SW_HIDE)
GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 10)
GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 15)
RunWait("robocopy.exe" & " " & @MyDocumentsDir & " " & $sDestination & "\Documents" & " " & $sFilesAll & " " & $sSettings, "", @SW_HIDE)
GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 20)
; etc etc
     GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 95)
RunWait("robocopy.exe" & " " & $sSource & " " & $sDestination & "\Browser" & " " & $sFilesBrowser & " " & $sBrowserSettings, "", @SW_HIDE)
GUICtrlSetData($progress_1, 100)
EndSelect

; I tried this in the function where the backup part is started in the while/wend
     If @error = 99 Then ExitLoop

But it just ignores it and if i put it in the function it gives an error that its not allowed outside the loop

All i need it to do is break the pattern of the runwaits and stop backing up

Any thoughts?

Chimaera,

If there is no loop in the function then you will get an error from the ExitLoop. Using Return might be the solution, but without sight of the whole function it is a bit difficult to be more precise. :)
