Get handle from form name

4 posts in this topic

I happen to have the name of a form, that does not have the Text property set (it's blank) so the form does not have a title. Is there a way I can get the Handle of this form?

Hi, formlesstree4. I'm trying to figure out how you could have provided us with less info :)

Is this a form in IE? If so what does the html for it look like?

Please reread what you have posted as if you have no clue what you're talking about, does it make any sense to you when read that way?

  • What type of "form"
  • What have you already tried
  • What language is the "form" written in, as there are many that AutoIt can't interact with directly
  • What has the Text property to do with the Title property

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I tried to edit my post, but apparently the forum won't let me :(

It's a .NET application that, when I click a button, will create a new form on top of the current one. It does not set the Owner or Parent properties (as far as I can see), and the Text property is set to an empty value (nothing), but the Name property is set. How can I actually do anything with this information?

EDIT: The Text property in .NET will set the Title of the form, that's how it relates. I'm sorry for a lack of information, I didn't really think through my original post.
