Protection of autoitscripts

Recommended Posts

The well known tool called exe2aut is a big problem - since it can decompile any compiled autoit file.

And packers and any kind of other software protector won't help much, you can dump the autoit file from memory, and then use the tool "exe2aut".

I tried to decompile my own script using myAutToExe (created by autoit developers - so shouldn't be a problem using that)

the log tells me this:

Script is password protected!
00049A28 -> Password/MD5PassphraseHash: 99B573AAABA78EF29392F8FF4039D199
         ™µsª«§Žò“’øÿ@9Ñ™

So my questions is, if it's possible to change the encryption method, to use something else than MD5? I guess it's not, since I think the autoit compiler is closed source?

I know this is a risky thread, so i'm not gonna mention any hex methods.

at the same time, this is a suggestion to make the autoit compiler support diffrent encryption methods, and make people able to combine them, so tools like "exe2aut" can't decompile peoples hard working scripts

legend,

myAutToExe (created by autoit developers - so shouldn't be a problem using that)

No, it is not developed by autoit developers - and yes, it is a problem discussing anything to do with decompilation. :mad:

Quite frankly I should ban you for admitting that you used that tool - but I will content myself with asking you to read the Forum Rules. If you ever post even a hint of decompilation in the future then you will not be treated so leniently. :naughty:
