Need help with MouseTrap()

Recommended Posts

I read what I could in the forum but there wasn't much. There might even be a different MouseTrap. The one I found is in Misc.au3

What I want to do is confine the mouse to a notepad document. I know how to get the handle of the Notepad document at which point I do a :

$WinSize = WinGetPos(notepadhandle)

$Left = $Winsize[0]

$Top = $Winsize[1]

$Right = $Left + $WinSize[2]

$Bottom = $Top + $WinSize[3]

Then to trap the mouse _MouseTrap($Left, $Top, $Right, $Bottom)

At that point the mouse looks like it winds up on the top-right border of the notepad window and is not movable. I am missing something but can't put my finger on it. Can someone help?

Error checking would be a start. What are the values in $Left/$Right/$Top/$Bottom? What's in the array $WinSize after you've read the position? Start with the variables to see what you're dealing with and make sure that you're getting back what you think you are.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
