MeepZero
I'm trying to run the following to add local admins on a freshly imaged machine... $test = "username" RunWait(@ComSpec & " /c " & "net localgroup administrators domain\" & $test & " /add", @SW_HIDE) ConsoleWrite(@ComSpec & " /c " & "net localgroup administrators domain\" & $test & " /add") When I take the console output and copy paste that into the Run box in windows, it runs fine. When I run the script, the local admin doesn't get added in. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?
BrewManNH
You have the @SW_HIDE in the WorkingDir parameter position for one thing. Also, try doing it with /k instead of /c and remove the @SW_HIDE and see if there's an error message. ProTip, never hide the script's output from yourself until you know it works, after you have it working then and only then do you finalize it by hiding the operations. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted November 28, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 28, 2012 Or take @Comspec out of the equation altogether. BrewManNH
Unfortunately, ShellExecute only returns 1 or 0 which only indicates whether it was able to run the program specified and not whether the program was able to do what it's supposed to do. If you need an exitcode, you need to use RunWait/ShellExecuteWait/RunAsWait. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
