am632 Posted December 24, 2012 Share Posted December 24, 2012 Hi, I have a combo box with about 60 items in it, it displays 30 items when you initially click on it, then the rest of the items appear when you scroll down. Is there a way to display only 20 items on the initial click as I'd prefer the combo box's list not to be longer than the hight of the forms window - purely for cosmetic reasons. Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderators Melba23 Posted December 24, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) am632,You need to send the $CB_SETMINVISIBLE message to the combo: #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <ComboConstants.au3> $hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500) ; Create combo empty $cmbBranch = GUICtrlCreateCombo("", 170, 40, 160, 25) ; Now add data $sData = "" For $i = 1 To 60 $sData &= "|" & "Item " & $i Next GUICtrlSetData(-1, $sData) ; And now limit the number of items to show to 20 GUICtrlSendMsg($cmbBranch, $CB_SETMINVISIBLE, 20, 0) GUISetState() While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitch WEndNote that $CB_SETMINVISIBLE actually sets the MAX visible - but please blame Bill Gates, not me! AutoBert Posted December 28, 2012 Share Posted December 28, 2012 There is one more include needed:#include <ComboConstants.au3> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderators Melba23 Posted December 28, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 28, 2012 AutoBert,Quite correct - thanks for picking it up. There is an additional section in the script from which I extracted that snippet which uses GUIComboBox.au3 and so automatically included the required constants. I took out the GUICtrlComboBox* functions and also the #include and did not run the script again before posting.
