Noviceatthis
Hello all Is there any way to check whether a media player window (e.g. VLC) is playing something or not. Would it have something to do with the WinActive Command?? Would greatly appreciate it if somebody could help with this
Moderators Melba23 Posted February 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 24, 2013 Noviceatthis, Answer this: What distinguishes a VLC GUI that is playing something from one that is not? Once you have a suitable feature you can decide how to identify it. Noviceatthis
Thanks for the tip Melba23 Think I got it When VLC is playing something, the titlebar shows the filename of what you're playing followed by VLC media player, when something isn't playing it just shows VLC media player, so HotKeySet("{ESC}", "func1") Local $no = 2 While $no = 2 If WinExists("VLC media player", "") Then MsgBox(0, "", "VLC Media Player is not active", 5) $no = 1 Else Sleep(20) EndIf Sleep(5000) $no = 2 WEnd Func func1() Exit EndFunc ;==>func1 that should work, one little bug is that when you start a video, whilst VLC is loading it, the titlebar shows just VLC media player, and thus shows the message. Is there any way around this??
Moderators Melba23 Posted February 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 24, 2013 Noviceatthis, How often do you want to check and how long does VLC take to load?
