tsue,

To list the files in folders and subfolders, could I suggest my RecFileListToArray UDF - the link is in my sig. Once you have the list you need only loop through it and use the "replace" function on each file. :)

hi your script is amazing O.O thanks but i got a problem in this code, when it starts checking the files it somehow replace the jpg gif files and maybe other types of files, is there a way to make _ReplaceStringInFile to replace yust text files like htm, html css .txt files?

#include <File.au3>
#include <Array.au3>
#include "RecFileListToArray.au3"

$aArray = _RecFileListToArray(@WorkingDir , "*", 0, 1, 0)

For $files In $aArray

$retval = _ReplaceStringInFile($files, "generated", "")

Next
MsgBox(0, "show", "completed")

tsue,

If you only want to run the "replace" function on certain types of file, then just ask the UDF to return only those file types: ;)

$aArray = _RecFileListToArray(@WorkingDir, "*.htm;*.html;*.css;*.txt", 1, 1)

As you had written that line, you were also getting all the subfolders returned as well - by setting the $iReturn parameter to 1 you only get the files, so everything runs faster as well. ;)

All clear? :)
