hushpuppy
I have been using a ComboBoxEx control and I found that it does not work with the GuiGetMsg (), function. This means if you try to use the ComboBoxEx control in a switch statement using the GuiGetMsg funtion it will not work. Also basic functions like guictrlread () does not work either. This causes significant problems when scripting...
BrewManNH
Ok If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Moderators Melba23 Posted March 18, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 18, 2013 hushpuppy,As the ComboBoxEx control is produced by a UDF it is hardly surprising that, in common with all the other UDF-created controls, it does not respond in the same manner as the controls created with the native AutoIt functions. As is shown clearly in the ComboBoxEx_Create example in the Help file you need to use more advanced code to interact with it. So it is entirely your choice: use the native AutoIt functions which are designed for ease of use but have some functional limitations - or use the UDF functions and accept that their greater functionality comes with a penalty. But just moaning about it will get you no sympathy at all.
