NepesX,

Alas, I have always found that this happens when you apply that type of style. What I always do is to create 2 labels - one to give a black (or other colour) border and then another, slightly smaller, to show the text:

GuiCtrlCreateLabel("", 10, 10, 50, 50)
GUICtrlSetBackColor(-1, 0)
GuiCtrlCreateLabel("nepes", 11, 11, 48, 40)
Any help? :)

Here's why that is working as designed.

From this MSDN page.

Frame Styles
Static controls can be used to draw frames (boxes that are not filled). Frame-style static controls do not display text. The three frame-style static controls are:

•SS_BLACKFRAME
•SS_WHITEFRAME
•SS_GRAYFRAME

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
