Can I run my installer and generate the autoit script automatically using some recording option in autoit? If so, how to do that? I couldn't see such an option in the tool.

Have you tried searching the forums for the answer to this question? It's been asked and answered probably 100 times since the beginning of the year.

If you haven't installed it already, install the full version of Scite4AutoIt3 and look for the Au3Recorder in the Tools menu, once you've opened a file with the extension of .au3 that is.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

What are you trying to install? There are usually much easier ways to automate an install than mousemoves and clicks
