Question about SciTE Config

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to confirm some behavior for SciTe Config. I added a User Includes folder, and added several UDFs in there (OutlookEX, AD, etc.). After doing so, the autocomplete comes up just fine when calling functions within these UDFs. I have tried adding some others, however (RecFileListToArray, ChooseFileFolder, _WinSplit) do not show the autocomplete after added to this directory and reloading AutoIt.

Just curious if it is in the way the UDF is written, or some other factor that causes this behavior?

Each time you open the CallTip Manager it reads the user include folder(s) - if any - and if those folders are selected in the left-hand combo reads the .au3 files within them into the right-hand combo. When I add files to my User Include folder they certainly appear in the combo. :)

But you have to parse any UDFs with the app before the CallTips and AutoComplete appear in Scite - this does not happen automatically. Select the UDF to parse and presss the "Parse" button - the UDF then looks through all the functions and suggests which ones you might like to add. The new version that Jos has just uploaded to the Beta download page uses the following logic:

Header Mode:

Old-fashioned function headers: Looks for the # FUNCTION # ==== headers and ignores the # INTERNAL USE ONLY # ==== ones. It uses the Syntax and Description lines from the header.

New function headers without details: As above but then if it finds nothing looks for Func _Func_Name lines.

Direct Mode:

Just looks for Func _Func_Name lines.

Does that help?

Edit: Oh well, it might help someone else! :D

Thanks, as usual, no sooner did I post than I saw JohnOne's thread. It's been so long I forgot I have to parse through them one by one :)
