Using AutoIt-1-2-3?

Recommended Posts

terrypin

I saw recommendations for AutoIt-1-2-3 as a good tutorial for beginners. But I'm confused about how to use it. I downloaded the ZIP and uncompressed it to the folder Autoit_123. What then? There was a single EXE in the folder called Autoit-123-Demo26.exe. Demo26? Why not  Demo1? And no Readme.txt? Anyway I ran that. But it begins by apparently asking me to download at least two things I have already installed (AutoIt and SciTE). Presumably I can skip those, but why do I also need a beta version? Won't that cause confusion?

Perhaps there is an alternative tutorial that is more intuitive to use please?

I always recommend reading the Help file (at least the first few sections - Using AutoIt, Tutorials and the first couple of References) as this will help you enormously. You should also look at this excellent tutorial - you will find other tutorials in the Wiki (the link is at the top of the page). :)
