jack71
Use the ID instead ControlClick($window, "", 11301) That isn't the full syntax for the ControlClick function, there needs to be a button and mouse click entry. Does anyone know the correct syntax for the function?
BrewManNH
You need to read the help file, jdelaney posted a valid usage of ControlClick, the last parameters "[, button = "left" [, clicks = 1 [, x [, y]]]]" are all optional, and the defaults are left button, one click, middle of the control. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Don't assume I didn't read the help file, for I have and have searched for examples on this forum. I did glance over the default values, my bad. However the help file isn't much help either if you want to input something besides the default option parameters: http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/docs/functions/ControlClick.htm Function: ControlClick ( "title", "text", controlID [, button = "left" [, clicks = 1 [, x [, y]]]] ) The example given in the help file: ; Send a mouse click to the edit control of Notepad using the handle returned by WinWait. ControlClick($hWnd, "", "Edit1") See how a new person to AutoIT could get lost? I'd still like to see how to use the full syntax of this function, say if I wanted to right click and twice. Thanks. BrewManNH
Use "right" instead of left for the button parameter, and 2 instead of 1 for the clicks parameter. Seems obvious to me, especially as it's explained fairly well in the help file in the parameters section for that function. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Moderators Melba23 Posted January 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 13, 2014 jack71, However the help file isn't much help either if you want to input something besides the default option parametersDo you seriously expect the examples to show every possible calling syntax for every function? And even if this particular function does not have an example of the optional parameters being used, there are plenty of others that do - just look around the Help file until you find one. jack71
Melba23, Thanks for posting. I feel stupid now but for whatever reason the brackets in the end of the function threw me off ([, button = "left" [, clicks = 1 [, x [, y]]]]). I was inputting them into the script writer and it kept saying invalid . Thanks again. jack71, Do you seriously expect the examples to show every possible calling syntax for every function?
