Saving a rectangle image, loading, and finding image

4 posts in this topic

I was hoping to easily snip a rectangle image, save it, and then that way when I need to check the current status of the page.  I can use images rather than just bits to to make sure I'm on the right page.  I've found a nice program to track x,y coordinates and the color of the pixel, and a page about saving and loading arrays.  It would take me a while to put together everything though.  Rather than reinvent the wheel I've tried searching for a ready made and tested program.  Is there a nice script with a  gui interface that would allow me to save an image, and then reload the image so I can search for it on the screen.  Say I snip a button image, and the background it should look like after I press the button.  So I snip the button image and save it as button 1 and the background image as background 1, and then search for the button, click it, and then check the background. Would this be the best way going about trying to create a script for a basic game?

zissler,

Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :)

Is this a game that you want to write in AutoIt or a third-party game you are trying to automate?

I would like to automate a very tedious game with buttons.  It has several backgrounds and rather than using a single bit I was hoping to look at entire images, as sometimes it can be very similiar.  If there's an easier way let me know.  I'll probably do some more searching as it seems like a useful script idea and may have been created, if not I could probably throw something together, but it will take me some time.

I was afraid of that. You appear to have missed the Forum rules on your way in. Please read them now (there is also a link at bottom right of each page) - particularly the bit about not discussing game automation - and then you will understand why you will get no help and this thread will now be locked. :naughty:

See you soon with a legitimate question I hope. :)
