how to stringreg to look for > and exclude <

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I try to make a condition so the loop exits based on the StdoutRead($DOS) that has the promp " >" after a command done.

stringright doesn't work for me because the dos commands mostly are not basic dos command so It never read the last line where it shows the prompt.

I try the standard dos "dir" it does work for stringright($out, 1) = ">" , the stdout can read the last with prompt >  for dir.

so for each  perl command script, or bat file, I just use stringregex($stdoutput , ">")  whenever in middle of script shows up the prompt.

however , there is some output has a line like  " bla bla <systemname>" ...it is not actually a prompt...how can I make a statement to read only things with > and not with <

That's clear as mud. Post an example of typical input and desired output.
