Schrodinger's Telnet.exe

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm trying to run telnet.exe.

My main problem is that it's existence is not recognized.

FileExists("C:\Windows\System32\telnet.exe")
Run("C:\Windows\System32\telnet.exe")
Run(@Comspec & " /c C:\Windows\System32\telnet.exe")
ShellExecute("C:\Windows\System32\telnet.exe")

All error out.

The file is in the directory:

Is there something special I need to do to run telnet.exe, I can run it both through cmd.exe (Not @Comspec, which appears to be a Perl Command Line?) and the run dialog just fine?

My UDFs are generally for me. If they aren't updated for a while, it means I'm not using them myself. As soon as I start using them again, they'll get updated.

Are you running the script as a 32 bit process or a 64 bit? Telnet.exe isn't in SysWOW64, so if you're running it as a 32 bit program it won't find the file.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I'm running it directly from SciTE... which is 32-bit while telnet is 64-bit... Thanks.
