weirddave Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I'm trying to center all lines of text on a button, here's my command $SendSpeed =GUICtrlCreateButton("Speedo"&@CRLF&"Test",$buttonX+60,100,60,50,$BS_MULTILINE+ $BS_VCENTER+$BS_CENTER) It's generally centered but the 2nd line (Test) is left aligned with the 1st line (Speedo), I want both lines to be centered. Any ideas? Using version 3.3.10.2
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 8, 2014 Moderators Posted May 8, 2014 weirddave,If you use the $BS_MULTILINE style, each line should be centred by default so there is no need to use the other styles at all - although it does not hurt. This is what happens when I run some code:#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <ButtonConstants.au3> $hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500) ; What you had GUICtrlCreateButton("Speedo" & @CRLF & "Test", 10, 10, 60, 50, $BS_MULTILINE + $BS_VCENTER + $BS_CENTER) ; How I would do it GUICtrlCreateButton("Speedo" & @CRLF & "Test", 110, 10, 60, 50, $BS_MULTILINE) ; How to combine styles when required GUICtrlCreateButton("Speedo" & @CRLF & "Test", 210, 10, 60, 50, BitOr($BS_MULTILINE, $BS_VCENTER, $BS_CENTER)) GUISetState() While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitch WEndAnd notice the correct way to combine styles - read the Setting Styles tutorial in the Wiki to see why you should do it that way. You are not trying to colour the buttons later in the script by any chance? weirddave Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) I ran your code and my results are different, as per the attached. My best guess now is it's something to do with windows (7 here) Edit: Forgot to attach the file! Edited May 8, 2014 by weirddave
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 8, 2014 Moderators Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) weirddave,Nothing seen - and Win 7 here too. I suggest you post the whole script - as I mentioned earlier, there are circumstances where button styles can be lost. weirddave Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 I copied/pasted your code into a new au3 and ran it, so the whole script is already posted
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 8, 2014 Moderators Posted May 8, 2014 weirddave,Those buttons look awfully flat - what theme are you running? weirddave Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 It's Windows Classic theme, and it does seem to be the cause of the problem. Specifically, it's "Use visual styles on windows and buttons" in the Visual Effects tab of Performance Options. Oh, well, I'll just have to live with having the text looking odd....
