Darien,

First question: why are you adding the file and what do you want to do with it?

These files are jpg's that I intend to use in Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).

Darien,

Which is why I asked - you should look at using FileInstall which makes the whole thing very much simpler. :)

fileinstall will unzip the file to a folder that can be deleted. besides, I have to delete it when the program finished.

Darien,

And so? it is much easier to do this than use the file from the resource table. ;)

But if you insist on that route than Zedna's excellent Resources UDF (which you can find here) is what you need. This is more complicated to use, but allows you to use files stored in your .exe without having to copy them onto the user's machine. Obviously it requires more effort from you - but that is your choice. However, if you want to use this UDF you MUST read the Resources thread carefully and try out the examples - the UDF is not difficult to use, but if you do not take the trouble to learn how to use it properly, you will have problems.

Personally I would recommend using FileInstall - if you can get what you want that way it is far simpler. ;)

I thought it was simple. I'll have to use Fileinstall.

Thank you.

I have the following line of code:
#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_File_Add=Includes\7Zip\7-zip32.dll, rt_rcdata, 7ZIP32 This worked fine for several days but now when I try to compile, I get an error saying:
!>12:50:07 Aut2exe.exe encountered an error ended with error: Error adding file: 7-zip32.dll .rc:2 I tried to delete the line of code just so I could compile, but even when I delete the line of code I keep getting the same error. Nothing else tries to include the dll but for some reason I cannot compile anymore. Any suggestions?
